Very excited to try some new hiking trails in a National Park that has much natural beauty. Here’s a map for you, I didn’t really know much about it until I started researching hike ideas.
I thought it would be simple to choose a couple trails that suit my ability and provide great views or a waterfall, but I’ve only narrowed it down to 28! And I’ll only have a couple days there!
Oh well, I guess a return visit will be needed. 😉
2017 has been a heck of a year so far – a year of events that make you think about life and why we are here and for how long. That’s why I decided to not delay this next trip because, who knows what next year will bring?
Elephants are beautiful creatures, and it has been a longtime wish to see them in the wild. So when I saw that Art Safari had a trip named “Large, Grey and Unmistakeable”, I knew it was meant for me.
Very soon I will be headed for Zambia with Art Safari to hopefully see some of these majestic creatures, as well as other wildlife.
I will guess that most of you do not know exactly where Zambia is. I certainly didn’t, so I’ve made this map to help.
Thornicroft Lodge is where we will stay, traveling each day to South Luangwa Park, hoping to see big game like lions and elephants and so many other exotic creatures that I’ve only seen in zoos!
I’d hoped to have you join me on this adventure, but wifi will be very limited. Stay tuned for updates!
Getting ready for another travel adventure! Soon I will be back in Italy, again on the Amalfi coast.
Here’s a map showing the location:
I also prepared something to help me hold a moleskine sketchbook with my palette.
It’s a simple piece of sturdy cardboard, covered with contact paper, using clips to hold the items.
My brush and pencil case can stand on its own, or can be clipped to the corner of the board.
So – I should be set to tackle some serious fun, making art, enjoying the Italian wine and food, and soaking up the sun and sea.
That is meant in the nicest way! Hiking has been shown to improve both your health and your outlook. Disclaimer: I am not an expert hiker. I’m not even very experienced. But I love getting out in nature and moving!
Today was a gorgeous February day! Does this sound like an oxymoron? Not today, we had 60 degrees and sunshine. It was a perfect day to explore the woods.
As an artist, not only do I need to prep for the hike, I also need to throw down a few sketches.
Don’t judge me! Lipstick is very helpful on the trail. Okay, it’s not helpful, I just like to wear it.
The perfect place to get out in nature: Chenango Valley State Park
